Dr Anne McBride is a Senior Lecturer in Human-Animal Interactions and Animal Behaviour at the University of Southampton. She is a member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors and a Member of Council of the Companion Animal Welfare Council, an independent advisory body under the chairmanship of Lord Soulsby of Swaffham Prior. She is also Deputy Chairperson of PATHWAY - a working party looking at pets and housing issues in the UK, chaired by Roger Gale MP.
Dr McBride’s research interests include small animal behaviour and welfare, and human perceptions of and attitudes towards non-human animals. With 15% of UK households owning fish (in comparison to 3% owning rabbits), Anne will bring a wealth of knowledge to the companion welfare aspect of our work.
