Tizzy has many years of experience working within the aquatics industry, from managing retail stores to zoological collections. Tizzy brings to AWA a wealth of knowledge and insight from retail and public aquariums; her practical knowledge of aquatic welfare is invaluable.
Tizzy is currently Team Leader in a large pets & aquatics department and was previously Senior Aquarist at Chessington Sea Life and has experience working with a range of animals from native and tropical fish, to otters and penguins. During her time here she implemented a welfare audit across the department and chaired the enrichment committee. She was also a member of the BIAZA Ray and Skate Working Group.
More recently Tizzy was a Lecturer in Animal Welfare and Management at Moulton College, where she taught on a range of Further Education courses, from Animal Behaviour and Training to Animal Nutrition.
Through her experiences, Tizzy recognised there was a need for an organisation such as AWA, so decided to take the opportunity to become involved with the organisation.
